Municipalities
Oulu's ringed and circumferenced by a variety of pleasant places to live and
from which to commute, if you're the commuting type. Many of them are on
Oulujoki, the Oulu river, and most have pleasant churches, good facilities,
and a recorded history dating back a few hundred years.
As with Oulu itself, the district services tend to be as close to perfect as
they can be considering the rural location. Roads are well kept, snowploughs
visit with rigid regularity in winter, and shops and amenities are within
easy reach. For some areas - such as Hailuoto, for instance - the experience
is more rural again.
